Talking To Our Co-Founder About the $30m Contracting Business He Runs

Patrick’s Story: This was originally filmed in 2021, since then the businesses have grown to ~$30m

Every since he was 15 years old, Patrick always wanted to have his own business. He did not want to work for anyone else. This led Patrick, as a full time university student, to buy into his first business as a franchisee of Student Works. He had a small and humble painting franchise in the beginning, but big dreams and a drive to reach his full potential led him to take on, memorize, and constantly practice the systems that were given to him. An advantage on being a part of a franchise is that you are able to get constant coaching and mentorship from a team of dedicated contracting experts/consultants.

After doing over $100k in revenue his first year, over $150k in his second year, and over $200k in his third year Patrick was given the opportunity to become one of the coaches and work as a consultant in the franchise. Three more years of exceptional results as a coach, led him to land the role of Vice President within the company. As VP, Patrick used all the systems, processes, and resources that Contracting.com provides to every contractor to take the business from $5million a year to $25 million a year. How can these systems help a million dollar contracting franchise AND a contractor just starting out? It all comes down to fundamentals. A franchise is basically a group of businesses, and for the franchise to grow, the businesses within it have to grow. Based on our philosophy of “fundamentals first”, Patrick reintroduced, strengthened, and ingrained the fundamentals into each franchise business; resulting in massive growth.

Patrick is a founder, and one of the senior consultants within this firm. His experience and knowledge is constantly being integrated within our systems. Allowing every contractors to benefit from Patrick’s knowledge managing 212 contracting business locations and over 1200 employees.

Quote:

“What seems insane to me is the fact that there are contractors out there with a decade of experience, who are incredible craftsmen, and they are getting beat out of the market by people who are not as talented or as experienced. This is all because they don’t know how to sell themselves, and they don’t know how to build the right structures and systems in place to have their business be easy to run. So as a result they end up working for other people for little money, or run small businesses charging way too little for what their time is really worth. Attaining the necessary business knowledge on how to organize a successful business should be every contracting business owners #1 priority. That is why we build Contracting.com.”
