Story:

Jonathan went from working 70 hours a week in his business, to taking a month long vacation with his family.

The crazy part? His 5 employees took care of everything on the job sites and kept the business running while he was away.

Before he met us, Jonathan hardly ever had a day off. When he did, he was too tired to do anything but rest on the couch and try to regain his energy.

This started taking a real toll on his family.

One Sunday afternoon, Jonathan’s wife called his name from another room…

And before Jonathan could even answer, his son yelled out to her:

“Dad’s busy!”

But he wasn’t…

Story:

An 18 year old with 2 kids and a struggling contracting business came to me for help…

If nothing changed in the next 2 months, the business would need to shut down. Jose would need to get a job to support his family.

At the time, he was doing about $3,000 a month in sales, with no profit to show for it.

On some projects he even had to dig into his own pockets to pay his employees.

He had no clear path to make things better.

Jose wasn’t afraid of hard work, he would do anything to provide a better life for his family…

He just didn’t have the knowledge and the systems he needed to make his business profitable.

When I first met Robert, he was down to his last $2,000.

At that point he was 9 years into running his own business and 35 years into being a plumber.

How Jackson went from:

Wearing all the hats in the business → Becoming a true CEO and owner of his company.

Most contractors dream of owning a business that works for them.

Where they can take a week long vacation and still make money.

Where they aren’t the person who has to do all the bidding, paperwork, scheduling and labor.

But for a lot of contractors, that vision is more of a dream than their reality.

And when we first met Jackson, that was definitely the case.

He had recently started his own company, Gutter Guys Plus.

But things were chaotic.

Jackson struggled to find reliable employees that he could trust with his reputation.

Story:

Within 4 months of working with us, Travis went from:

Stuck on the tools full time → Taking a week long fishing trip (while his business still made money)

Within 12 months, his business went from $5,000 per month → $400,000 per year in sales.

When I first met Travis, he had a lot of goals for himself and for his business.

He wanted to:

  • Increase his sales & profit

  • Get off the tools

  • Work on systems

  • Hire a journeyman

  • Have another truck

  • Less stress

  • Better sleep, and

  • To start working out

But if you boiled it down, Travis wanted the same thing we all do – Freedom.

Story:

As a contractor, Trevor went from living pay-check to pay-check to clearing over $150,000 in contracting work in a single month, but things were not always like this. For many years Trevor struggled as a contractor. He had trouble marketing his business. His dreams of getting his business to where he wanted to be, were slowly fading away. It seemed that he was destined to just being another average contractor. To try and combat this he started offering more and more services, spending more and more money with "marketing experts" that will boost his sales, and paying monthly fees for leads that were hopeless. Due to the inconsistency of work, employees of his came and went.

Things were getting bleak, until one day he ran into one of our Facebook Ads and decided to work with us. Laughter, joy, and optimism slowly came back. Running a business became fun. The future became exciting and clear. He knew exactly what to do and how to do them.

Brett was referred to us at a time when he was working 14 hour days. He worked 9 hours as a project manager of a high rise construction company, and then spent 5 hours every evening trying to do side jobs in his own business. The referral was made by a friend of his who was seeing the ridiculous hours and lifestyle that Brett was living. After our first conversation, he was still hesitant. “Will this work?” “Will I actually get the results I need?” “How quickly will it take?”

Brett McCullough

Story:

Kyle ran into a Facebook post of ours that went viral in early 2022 called the Fishing Test. In it we ask contractors, “can you take 7 day fishing trip anytime during the year and still make money from your contracting business?”

His answer: absolutely not.

”I found out that I owned a job, not a business.” Kyle explained to us, “We were wearing so many hats in our business, and no matter what we couldn’t seem to be able to get past these hurdles… we were stuck.”

Kyle’s business partner, Kendall, shared a similar outlook:
-They both spent over 30 hours a week, each, on the tools
-They constantly had trouble finding good employees to hire that they can trust
-They were turning down jobs left and right since they were so busy
-They barely had time for their family and kids
-They felt like they were wearing too many hats in their business and running around like headless chickens trying to keep the ship afloat.

Story:

Starting a residential carpentry business is hard, but starting a residential carpentry business in a WHOLE new country is even harder.

Noel and Casey moved to Canada from the UK around 6 months ago with a dream of starting their own contracting business. However that dream slowly seemed to turn to just that, a dream. Something had to change. They had no idea where to start.

They were working as many hours as they could trying to get this business of theirs off the ground, but it just wasn't enough. Their marketing efforts were crushed by bigger and more established businesses. They needed to learn how to grow their business or risk giving up on their dreams and stay average. Ibrahim, Youssef, Badr, and Nikoleta have always tried to find and achieve their full potential as a team. Trying businesses on their own, different sales jobs, and various other ventures have just proved to be too inconsistent. It was not until they decided to run their own roofing business that things took a turn for the better.

Things started up slow, they landed jobs as subcontractors for bigger companies. Put up with being paid very little, and got used to working very long hours. Enough was enough. The bills were piling up and a decision had to be made. Ibrahim, the CEO of the group, decided to reach out to us for some professional coaching and consulting, after coming across Trevor’s success story (see above) on our Facebook page.

Ibrahim was used to the idea of coaching and knew that there had to be other contractors who were doing better and getting more success who can be learned from. Story:

Mark started his journey running a painting franchise in Student Works Painting but wanted to start his own business under his own name. Lucas started his journey as an employee working for other contractors but wanted to start his own business because he felt most contractors in the area failed to live up to the quality they were promising.

Instead of going out into the world of business ownership alone, they were aware that they had a choice to make:
- “Do we try to figure this out alone?”
- “Do we get mentorship from someone who has already figured this out?”

They chose to put any arrogance aside and chose to do the latter.

Mark had heard about Amer’s success through people in his network and some podcasts that he was featured on and decided to reach out to see what they can learn to succeed.

TWENTY-FIVE YEARS… That’s how long Zaffir has been mastering his craft as a painter, and just 7 years ago he decided to turn that passion into a side business. What did he do full-time? Zaffir had a full-time job in the pharmaceutical sector, where he felt he was just another cog in the corporate machine. But what was the alternative? Bills still need to be paid. things still need to be taken care of.

His dream of building this business, earning a full time income off it, and get more freedom in his life was relegated to his spare time in the evening and weekends. So how did he escape this ‘doomloop’?

Zaffir recognized that he simply did not know the answer to that question, but that there were contractors out there who did. Contractors who have been able to get off the ‘hamster wheel’. Story:

Mahmoud stumbled upon one of our Facebook Ads early in the year. It has been 10 years since he first chose to follow in his fathers footsteps and go into the stone business. Time has not been a friend, and as the clock ticked, the more difficult it got to grow the business.

His parents have just entered retirement and COVID had wiped out their bank accounts. Mahmoud was responsible for them. Not only did he have to provide for his parents, but he had a family of his own, with their own sets of bills as well.

When he reached out to us, he was one month away from selling off his shop to stay afloat, despite making $10,000 a month on average, it was not enough cashflow for when the slow season hit, and something had to change.

The biggest thing we helped Mahmoud with was showing him how to fill up his schedule with work, book himself with work months in advance, and double the profits he earns per job.
